About 20% of babies and young children have eczema, also called atopic dermatitis. Eczema can show up as red, crusty patches on your baby’s skin, often during their first few months. While eczema can appear anywhere, it often shows up on a child’s cheeks and in skin creases, such as the insides of the elbows, backs of the knees, wrists, or ankles. And since eczema is so itchy, your child can’t help but scratch, only leading tofurther skin irritation.
Right now, dermatologists at Cahaba Clinical Research are conducting a new research study that may be able to help. The study is for an investigational, steroid-free cream for eczema. If your child is between 3 months to < 24 months old and struggles with eczema, you may be eligible.
If you join the study, your child will receive all study-related care at no cost, and you may also be compensated for your time and travel to attend study visits.
